The Sixers own the No. 22 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and are expected to prioritize a prospect who can contribute immediately, but the organization’s biggest focus remains finding its next head of basketball operations.
According to Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com, team president Bob Myers hopes to have a new executive in place before draft night, though he stressed the franchise won’t rush the process.
“If it hasn’t happened, that’s okay, too,” Myers said. “But the goal would be to have someone in place for the draft to get acclimated with the new group… whoever we hire, not sure who that will be, will likely, possibly already be evaluating the draft from where they’re coming from …
“But yeah, I’d like to, and I hope to, but it’ll be as much time as required to get the best person. Because again … the goal would be to have someone that’s the right person for a long amount of time after that.“
Philadelphia has frequently been linked to wings and centers in mock drafts, including Allen Graves, Dailyn Swain and Luigi Suigo.
With multiple injury concerns tied to the team’s max-contract core, adding a rookie capable of helping right away could be especially important.
