Jared McCain had every reason to feel slighted after former Sixers executive Daryl Morey publicly suggested Philadelphia “sold high” by trading the young guard to Oklahoma City.
However, following his breakout 24-point performance in Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs, McCain made it clear he isn’t motivated by bitterness or revenge.
“It’s never to prove anybody wrong. I try to keep a positive outlook. I like proving my support system right, the people who really believed in me, I like proving them right,” McCain said, per HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
“… Daryl’s still the guy that drafted me, so I’ll always have love for him for that. He trusted me, believed in me enough to take me at the 16th spot, so I’m forever grateful for that, no matter what.”
McCain has played 2 seasons for the 76ers and Thunder. He has averaged 10.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 90 regular-season games.
The Sixers are hoping to find a new president of basketball operations before draft night, plus more from Philadelphia. https://t.co/GMu3zgUxHM
