Andre Drummond’s season with the Sixers was filled with ups and downs, according to Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com, as the veteran center delivered strong stretches early and late in the year but also endured long periods where his impact noticeably declined.
Even so, Drummond showed signs of evolving offensively by expanding his range and becoming somewhat of a stretch-five option while still providing solid rebounding production.
Although he remains effective on the glass, Drummond is no longer the dominant rebounder he was during his peak years.
That leaves Philadelphia with an important offseason decision as the front office evaluates whether it can realistically find a better low-cost replacement given the team’s difficult salary situation.
If the Sixers are unable to significantly improve the backup center spot without spending heavily, Drummond could ultimately return to the franchise he has already spent parts of the last two seasons with, appearing in more than 100 games during that span
The big man has played 14 seasons for 6 teams, including the Pistons and 76ers. He has averaged 12.1 points and 11.9 rebounds in 967 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
The Sixers are hoping to find a new president of basketball operations before draft night, plus more from Philadelphia. https://t.co/GMu3zgUxHM
