Josh Hart had a straightforward assessment of Jalen Brunson’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” after the Knicks captain hosted the season premiere over the weekend.
Speaking during Knicks media day on Monday, Hart praised his teammate only to a certain extent.
“I think his performance was fine. I don’t think he has a future in acting,” Hart said with a bit of a smirk, which drew laughs within the press conference room.
Brunson became the first Knicks player to host the long-running show when he opened its 52nd season.
Hart attended alongside fellow Knicks starters Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, with all four players appearing during Brunson’s opening monologue.
Hart used his appearance to joke about the four-year extension Brunson signed in 2024 for considerably less than the maximum contract he could have received.
“Is that money still up for grabs?” Hart asked.
The teammates continued exchanging jokes during the segment, drawing on the chemistry they have also displayed together on “The Roommates Show,” which Brunson and Hart co-host.
Brunson’s appearance came after a championship season in New York. The Finals MVP helped the Knicks defeat the San Antonio Spurs in five games to capture their first NBA championship in 53 years.
