Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic left Monday’s Game 4 against the Detroit Pistons in the third quarter due to right calf soreness.
After the game, speaking with Jason Beede and Josh Robbins, Wagner said he began to feel tightness in his calf shortly before being taken out.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, though he remains hopeful he’ll be able to return for Game 5.
“Hopefully it’ll be better (Tuesday),” Wagner told Beede. “The guys got it done, so that’s all that matters.”
Even without Wagner, Orlando locked in defensively late, limiting Detroit to just 36 points in the second half to secure a 94-88 win and take a 3-1 series lead.
The matchup now shifts back to Detroit, where the 60-win Pistons must win three straight games to avoid elimination.
