Brandon Knight signs with Perth Wildcats

Brandon Knight has signed with the Perth Wildcats for the 2026-27 NBL season, with the deal pending NBL approval, the club announced Monday. The veteran point guard brings 10 years of NBA experience to Australia after most recently playing for Mets de Guaynabo in Puerto Rico.

Knight averaged 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 20 games for Mets de Guaynabo during the 2025-26 BSN season. He shot 47.0% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range while also recording 1.1 steals per game.

The 34-year-old guard has played professionally across the NBA, G League, Puerto Rico and Europe since entering the league in 2011. His NBA career includes 446 regular-season games, during which he averaged 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

Knight was selected eighth overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2011 NBA Draft after one season at Kentucky. He made an immediate impact, averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 66 games as a rookie.

His most productive NBA season came with the Phoenix Suns in 2015-16, when he averaged 19.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 52 games. He shot 41.5% from the field and 34.2% from three-point range that season.

Knight also had a strong 2014-15 campaign with the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 17.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 52 games before being traded to Phoenix during the season. He shot a career-best 40.9% from three-point range with Milwaukee that year.

After leaving the NBA, Knight continued his career in the G League and overseas. He averaged 17.7 points and 5.0 assists in 21 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2021-22 before briefly returning to the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks.

Knight then returned to Puerto Rico, where he averaged 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Quebradillas Pirates in 2022-23. He also spent part of the 2023-24 season with AEK Athens before returning to Puerto Rico.
