U16 DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONS! 🏆
What a fantastic end to the season for our U16 girls on Sunday last in sun-soaked Crotta, where they were crowned U16 Division One Champions following a comprehensive win over Causeway! Huge congratulations to this fantastic group of young players, who have developed so well together throughout the season. To finish the year as both U16 League and Championship winners is a fantastic achievement, and one they should all be incredibly proud of.
Causeway showed their skill and determination in the first half, making Parnells work hard for the win. However, our girls pulled away in the second half, producing some fantastic scores to secure the victory. Well done, girls — what a season! A special mention to our six players moving up to Minor next season. We wish you all the very best as you take the next step in your camogie journey.
A sincere thank you to Mike Hennessy and his team for officiating on the day, Crotta GAA for the use of their pitch and excellent facilities, and the County Board Officers — Ann, Siobhán and Ann Walsh — for giving their time and organising everything behind the scenes. Finally, well done to Causeway on a very sporting game, and congratulations to both teams on a fantastic season. To round off the celebrations, the girls enjoyed some well-deserved pizzas at Benners. Huge thanks to the management team — David, Áine, Brian and Lynda — for organising the celebrations and looking after the girls throughout the year!
HARTY CUP
Well done to CBS The Green, Tralee, on a fantastic result last week, making history in the Harty Cup with a win over Cashel Community School. Dr Harty Cup: CBS The Green, Tralee 2-17 Cashel Community School 1-15. Congratulations to all the players and management, with a special mention to our club players Luke Hanafin and David Cullinan, as well as Mark Ryall, who is part of the management team.
U21 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP
Hard luck to our U21 hurlers, who were beaten by a stronger St Brendan’s, Ardfert, side in the semi-final of the Ask Acorn U21 County Hurling Championship on Friday last. The team can be very proud of their efforts, having reached a county semi-final at this grade for the first time in the club’s history. The lads will now turn their attention to the North Kerry Championship, which gets underway in the coming weeks. We wish them the very best of luck!
RANGANNA GAEILGE
Our Irish language classes continue every Monday evening at the Tralee Sports Complex, with both a Leaving Certificate class and a beginners’ class available. All club members are welcome to come along and improve their cúpla focal in a friendly and relaxed setting. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week.
