Arsenal’s staggering Champions League prize money revealed as Mikel Arteta’s side dominate Premier League rivals

ARSENAL have banked £124million in Uefa appearance and prize money alone for their run to the Champions League final.

And a victory at the Puskas Arena will be worth a further minimum £9m as it would earn the Gunners a place in next August’s Uefa Super Cup – potentially against Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest – in Salzburg.

The semi-final victory over Atletico Madrid followed on from their perfect league phase and progression through to the last four.

It means the Gunners have earned £75.4m on the pitch so far in addition to the £49.6m they had earned before kicking a ball.

Winning this month’s final will add a further £5.6m to the Arsenal pot, while they will also bank £3.4m for earning their place in Austria on August 12.

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal are by far the top earners among the six English sides who took part in the competition this year, with quarter-finalists Liverpool next on £94.8m.

While Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle and Spurs all went out at the last 16 stage, there was a difference of nearly £30m between the top and bottom earners.

City, benefitting from a higher placing in Uefa’s overall five and 10-year performance ranking, took the biggest share, on £83.2m.

Next were Chelsea, with £79.8m, with Spurs picking up £74.1m in addition to their £3.4m from the Super Cup Final defeat to PSG, and Newcastle on  £54.8m.

It made the total across the six clubs a staggering £514.1m BEFORE gate receipts, likely to have added up to £35m for the Gunners and in the £25m mark for Liverpool and £20m-plus for the rest.

Arsenal are also pushing for success in the Premier League this year.

They currently lead the table by five points with three games to play.

Second-placed Man City have a game in hand, but are no longer in control of the title race following a 3-3 draw against Everton on Monday.
