Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves had suffered a hyperextended left knee along with a bone bruise and was projected to be out for several weeks, sources told ESPN.
While tests showed he avoided any ligament damage, the injury was still expected to keep him sidelined for a period of time.
Edwards has played 6 seasons for the Timberwolves. He has averaged 24.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 442 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 3 All-Star games.
