Former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher has seen his role shrink late in the regular season and has barely appeared for the Atlanta Hawks in the opening round of the playoffs, playing just two total minutes in the series so far.

Speaking to BeBasket after Game 1, Risacher said he’s focused on staying ready despite the limited opportunities, as relayed by Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops.

“You can’t let yourself get down by things you can’t control,” he said. “Of course, you can imagine it’s not an easy situation to manage. But here I am, still here, even more motivated, I’d say.

“I have to try to turn this to my advantage. Obviously, it’s tough, but I’m trying to make it a strength.”

Risacher has played 2 seasons for the Hawks. He has averaged 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 142 regular-season games.
