The Oklahoma City Thunder appeared overwhelmed by injuries in Sunday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

According to Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman, the Thunder may need either Jalen Williams or Ajay Mitchell back in the lineup to seriously contend in the Western Conference finals.

Williams was downgraded to out shortly before Game 4 because of left hamstring soreness, while Mitchell had already been ruled out with a strained right calf.

It’s still unclear whether either player will be ready when the series shifts back to Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

The absence of two important playmakers completely disrupted OKC’s offense.

The Thunder struggled to create quality shots, take care of the basketball and maintain any offensive flow throughout the game.

They shot just 33% from the field and only 18% from three-point range, not reaching 80 points until Nikola Topic scored late during garbage time.

“I thought we left a lot to be desired on that end of the floor tonight,” head coach Mark Daigneault said.

“We didn’t have the sharpness, force or precision necessary to crack them. And they were really good defensively.”
