Tarik Biberovic understands that his shooting ability alone will not be enough to secure regular playing time with the Dallas Mavericks.
The former Fenerbahce wing built a reputation as a strong perimeter shooter in Europe, but he is focused on showing Dallas that he can contribute in several other areas.
“To stay on the court, you have to do multiple things. It’s an everyday fight,” he said. “We’re here together to make each other better, but still, you’re competing every single day, and that’s the beauty of it.”
Biberovic identified defense, rebounding and physicality among the qualities he wants to provide as he competes for a place in the Mavericks’ rotation.
“I have a good size, and I’m trying to bring the physicality, defense, rebounding, the high energy, also the basketball IQ, understanding the pace, helping players around me, trying to be that piece who’s going to lift the team,” he added.
The Mavericks’ preseason schedule gives Biberovic an early opportunity to demonstrate those qualities before Dallas begins the 2026-27 regular season.
