Joel Embiid has been listed as doubtful for Game 3 between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics on Friday, according to Kyle Neubeck.

Embiid took part in Thursday’s practice to a limited extent, though head coach Nick Nurse indicated it was only slightly more than a light walkthrough, as noted by Tony Jones of The Athletic.

“I think we’re going to know a lot more probably by the end of today where he is,” Nurse said. “It’s kind of like, the work increases a little bit and then we gotta see how he comes out of that stuff… .

“He wants to play and we want him to play. I don’t know how close we are to that at this point, but I think there’s some progress being made.”

Embiid has been sidelined since April 6 after undergoing an emergency appendectomy late in the regular season. The series is currently even at 1-1 heading into Game 3.

Embiid has played 10 seasons for the 76ers. He has averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 490 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 7 All-Star games, and has won 1 MVP award.
