Anadolu Efes captured the VTB United League SuperCup with an 88-82 victory over Lokomotiv Kuban, as Mike James delivered the biggest performance of the final.
James finished with a game-high 27 points and saved his most important play for the closing seconds.
With Efes protecting an 84-82 advantage and only 13 seconds remaining, the star guard connected from three-point range while drawing a foul, completing a four-point play that effectively decided the game.
The performance capped an impressive tournament for James, who was subsequently named the SuperCup MVP.
Dario Saric also played an important role in the Efes victory, contributing 15 points and six rebounds.
Lokomotiv received 20 points apiece from Aleksej Pokusevski and Maksim Barashkov, but their efforts were not enough to overcome Efes.
Elsewhere in the tournament, CSKA Moscow secured third place with a convincing 79-59 win against Unics Kazan. Igokea also finished its campaign with a victory, defeating Zenit St. Petersburg 83-79.
