Michael Beasley reflected on what his career might have looked like if things had fully come together during his time in Miami, suggesting he had the talent to reach MVP level.
The former NBA forward shared that a recent conversation with the Heat big man Bam Adebayo got him thinking about it.
“Bam called me and asked how many MVPs I think I would’ve won … I told him I don’t think D. Rose deserved it over LeBron – I think LeBron should’ve had five straight. But I don’t think I would’ve beaten Kobe or Westbrook in their years either … .
“If I’m being honest, I probably would’ve finished 2nd, 5th, or 10th a lot … and maybe gotten one. I definitely would’ve been at least a Carmelo Anthony-type scorer … .”
Beasley played 11 seasons for 7 teams, including the Heat and Timberwolves. He averaged 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 609 regular-season games.
Michael Beasley believes he could’ve won an MVP if he had reached his full potential in Miami.
