Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams missed 15 games in March due to a stress reaction in the third metatarsal of his left foot.
He was also unavailable for last Friday’s play-in game against Golden State and Sunday’s Game 1 versus Oklahoma City due to left foot soreness.
Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports that Williams was seen wearing a walking boot at the team’s facility on Tuesday.
Despite that, head coach Jordan Ott did not rule him out for the remainder of the first-round series when asked on Tuesday, saying the team is “just continuing to take it day-by-day,” according to Rankin.
The Suns’ injury report also suggests some optimism, as Williams is currently listed as questionable for Game 2 on Wednesday rather than being ruled out.
However, his injury designation has now been updated to “left foot third metatarsal stress reaction,” indicating that the soreness is tied directly to the same issue that forced him to miss time earlier in March.
