Phoenix Suns head coach Jordan Ott made a strong impression in his first regular season in the role.
Still, the playoffs present a much tougher test as his team faces the defending champions and the Western Conference’s top seed, writes Doug Haller of The Athletic.
While expectations are low for Phoenix to win the series against Oklahoma City, Haller notes that staying competitive throughout will be an important measure of progress.
Suns forward Dillon Brooks has drawn praise from Draymond Green for his impact in Phoenix this season, as Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
He is focused on challenging Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on both ends in Game 2, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
“You see a guy like that going hard on the offensive end all game and trying to get a rest on defense,” Brooks said.
“I’ll find a way to make him use his legs, use his hands, use his mind on that defensive end, most of the time, he’s going to break down and then you can go out and make plays.”
