The Detroit Pistons head into Game 2 of their first-round series against the Orlando Magic with a clean injury report, while Orlando lists Jonathan Isaac as doubtful due to a left knee sprain.
The series shifts to Detroit for Game 2 on Wednesday, April 22, after the Magic opened with a 112-101 win on Sunday. Orlando already holds early control of the matchup, while Detroit is searching for adjustments on both ends.
Isaac’s availability is a key question for the Magic rotation. He has been used in a limited but impactful defensive role this season, providing switchability and rim protection in short bursts when healthy.
Detroit does not have any players on its injury report, giving the Pistons full access to their core rotation. That includes Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson, all expected to play their normal minutes in a high-pressure Game 2 spot at home.
The Pistons will need a stronger response after allowing 112 points in Game 1. Orlando’s top offensive players, led by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, consistently found scoring rhythm in the opener, forcing Detroit into long defensive stretches.
Banchero remains the primary scoring engine for the Magic at 22.2 points per game, while Wagner adds another dynamic scoring layer at over 20 points per night. That combination sets the tone for Orlando’s half-court execution.
Detroit’s focus shifts toward limiting those primary actions and improving physicality on the perimeter. With no injuries affecting the rotation, the Pistons can rely on full defensive combinations, including Cunningham’s on-ball pressure and Jalen Duren’s interior presence.
Isaac’s doubtful status matters because Orlando’s defensive identity depends on versatility across multiple positions. Without him, the Magic lose an additional layer of length against Detroit’s frontcourt attack.
Game 2 now becomes a test of adjustment for Detroit, which needs to respond after dropping home court early in the series. Orlando, meanwhile, will look to extend its momentum while managing an injury concern within its rotation.
