Chet Holmgren’s struggles against Victor Wembanyama during the Spurs series fueled discussion about his long-term fit alongside Oklahoma City’s other stars, particularly as rumors continue to surround the potential availability of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Some observers have suggested Antetokounmpo could be a better matchup against Wembanyama and theoretically help the Thunder address one of their biggest postseason challenges.

However, reports indicate there is no real expectation that general manager Sam Presti would consider moving Holmgren as part of such a deal.

The Thunder remain heavily invested in the former No. 2 overall pick, who is entering the first season of a five-year, $239.2 million extension.

Holmgren earned All-NBA honors for the first time this season and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Williams is also set to begin a five-year, $239.2 million contract extension.

He narrowly missed out on a larger supermax-level deal that would have been worth approximately $287 million had he secured another All-NBA selection this season, as he did in 2025.
