FIFA President Reportedly Offers Associations Incentive Over World Cup Investment Plan

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has reportedly offered member associations a €35 million incentive to agree to his plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to private equity.

The world governing body has confirmed it is planning to invite third parties to invest in major tournaments.

Infantino has reportedly informed associations that they have until September 19th to accept or reject the proposal.

UEFA is to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the plans, while CONCACAF has joined the European body in expressing concern and disappointment.
