Codi Miller-McIntyre has quickly developed an appreciation for Olympiacos head coach Georgios Bartzokas after beginning work with the Greek powerhouse.
The veteran guard sees similarities between his own personality and that of Bartzokas, particularly in how both change once competition begins.
“It’s amazing. You can tell he’s very passionate about basketball, he’s a very chill guy,” he said. “Obviously, when the game starts, something switches, and I love that. I think that’s how you should be, because I’m pretty much the same.
“I’m pretty calm off the court, and then something happens in the game, and it’s like, who is this guy? He’s not the same calm person as he is off the court. So I definitely get that and I understand it, but it’s been very nice [training under Bartzokas].”
Miller-McIntyre arrives in Piraeus after leading the EuroLeague with 7.4 assists per game last season, giving Bartzokas another experienced playmaker to direct his offense.
