Barcelona finished its Catalan League campaign with a trophy, overcoming a late deficit to beat iLERNA Lleida 96-87. However, the result came with concern over Dario Brizuela’s condition.
Brizuela was forced out during the third quarter after hurting his right leg.
The guard could not put weight on it as he left the floor and took no further part in the game. He had five points and four rebounds in nearly 15 minutes before exiting.
Despite spending much of the final behind, Barcelona stayed within striking distance.
Lleida carried a three-point advantage into the final period, but Barca changed the game with a strong fourth-quarter response.
Justin Robinson was at the center of that turnaround. The guard produced 19 points and seven assists and finished with a team-best efficiency rating of 25, earning MVP honors.
Joel Parra supplied even more scoring, leading Barcelona with 21 points while collecting seven rebounds and making 60% of his shots.
Lleida received a dominant performance on the boards from Zach Perrin, who recorded 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Barcelona therefore came away with the 96-87 victory and the Catalan League title, although Brizuela’s injury became the main concern coming out of the preseason contest.
