While Anthony Davis remains focused on the future, his first season with the Washington Wizards was heavily impacted by injuries.
The player appeared in just 20 games, a career low, as he dealt with multiple health issues, including ligament damage in his left hand that delayed his debut with the team during the 2025/26 season.
As noted by Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Davis appears undecided about the team’s short-term outlook, even as the Wizards hold strong lottery odds and continue building around their younger players.
Davis has played 14 seasons for the Pelicans, Lakers, and Mavericks. He has averaged 24.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.3 blocks in 807 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 10 All-Star games, and has won 1 NBA championship.
