Carmelo Anthony avoids questions about Clippers scandal

Carmelo Anthony had little interest in discussing the controversy surrounding Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers when he was approached during New York Fashion Week.

Anthony was outside the Tommy Hilfiger show when TMZ Sports asked him about the NBA scandal involving Leonard and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.

Rather than offering his opinion, the former NBA star quickly distanced himself from the situation.

“You know I ain’t getting into that,” he told TMZ Sports … adding, “They gone figure it out, or they already figured it out.”

The Clippers recently received major penalties after the NBA determined the franchise violated salary-cap rules connected to Leonard’s free-agent signing.

Los Angeles lost five first-round picks, received a $30 million fine, while Ballmer was suspended for the season.

Anthony was equally reluctant to discuss his personal life. When asked whether he might get married again, he reminded reporters why he was there.

“Man I’m at the Tommy show right now. What’s going on?”

The conversation became more comfortable when the subject shifted to his son, Kiyan Anthony, who is entering his sophomore season at Syracuse, Carmelo’s former school.

“That’s a better question,” he joked … before adding, “You should’ve asked me about the show.”
