The Timberwolves are retaining one of their young defensive specialists after agreeing to a new three-year, $10 million contract with restricted free agent Jaylen Clark.
Clark, the 53rd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has spent his entire professional career with Minnesota.
After missing his rookie season while recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in college, he made his NBA debut in 2024-25 and earned a standard contract midway through the season.
The 24-year-old appeared in 68 games off the bench last season, averaging 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in just over 13 minutes per contest.
While his offensive game remains a work in progress, Clark established himself as a versatile perimeter defender capable of guarding multiple positions.
Minnesota’s decision to bring Clark back provides continuity as the franchise reshapes its roster following the blockbuster trade that brought LaMelo Ball to the organization.
His new multiyear contract gives the Timberwolves another affordable rotational wing as they continue building around Anthony Edwards and their revamped core.
