MANCHESTER UNITED have banked £38million for their transfer war chest by selling a star in the middle of their clash with Nottingham Forest.
It is set to be a big summer of recruitment for United chiefs as they prepare for a Champions League campaign next season.
A midfield rebuild is desperately needed, as well as additions in attack, on the wing and in defence.
That is set to be funded by the departures of a number of high salary big name stars including Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
But another star on loan away from Old Trafford this season is Rasmus Hojlund, who headed to last season’s Italian champions Napoli.
The striker saw a clause inserted into his deal joining the Naples outfit that, if they qualified for the Champions League, they would pay United £38m to make the deal permanent.

And today the Dane helped Napoli to achieve exactly that in a 3-0 win over Pisa.
Ex-Man Utd star Scott McTominay got the party started with a goal after 20 minutes, before Amir Rrahmani added a second six minutes later.
Hojlund, 23, then rounded out the clash in the second half with a goal of his own in the second minute of injury time.
The game kicked off at 11am UK time, meaning that when the full-time whistle went it was in the middle of the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Hojlund has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season for Napoli, including 11 Serie A goals.
He scored 26 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions for United after they spent an initial £64m to buy him from Atalanta.
With both United and Napoli in the Champions League next season, there is a chance for a Hojlund reunion with his old team-mates in the competition next season.
United beat Forest 3-2 in the clash, with Bruno Fernandes equalling the Premier League’s all-time assist record.
