De’Aaron Fox had voiced frustration following a technical foul he received during the second quarter of the San Antonio Spurs’ win over the Portland Trail Blazers, as reported by Tom Orsborn of San Antonio Express-News.
The incident occurred after Fox was initially called for an offensive foul when his elbow made contact with Deni Avdija’s face on a floater attempt.
Although the Spurs successfully challenged the offensive foul and had it overturned, Fox was still assessed a technical for disputing the call.
“It was an awful call,” he said. “I mean, don’t play defense with your face. I have a vertical plane that I get to go up. I didn’t throw my elbows out or anything. It was a normal floater.”
