Although the Golden State Warriors fell short of adding superstars, franchise rookie Yaxel Lendeborg is embracing a big role with his team.
Lendeborg opened up about his role this upcoming season in a conversation with veteran Draymond Green.
“I just want to be able to crack rotation, play meaningful minutes, be able to be somebody that they count on. I know I was talking to Draymond a little bit more later on after the scrimmages and stuff, and he was telling me like my role,” the rookie said, via NBC Sports.
The 6-foot-9 swingman also emphasized the need for aggressiveness, especially in creating for himself and embracing experience with a champion team.
“I need to be a lot more aggressive this year, so just having a confidence to believe in myself and go out there and make the extra play and not always worry about being a playmaker, you know, start trying to create for myself as well,” Lendebrog added.
The 24-year-old rookie was drafted 11th overall by Golden State and came from Michigan, an NCAA Champion, Big Ten Player of the Year, and two-time AAC Defensive Player of the Year.
