
The Professional Basketball Writers Association (PBWA) announced that San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama has been selected as the recipient of the Magic Johnson Award for the 2025/26 season, according to a press release.
The honor is given to the player who best exemplifies both high-level performance on the court and professionalism in interactions with the media and fans.
Donovan Mitchell of the Cavaliers finished as the runner-up for the second consecutive year, while Stephen Curry of the Warriors, Jaylen Brown of the Celtics and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks were also among the finalists.
Wembanyama has played 3 seasons for the Spurs. He has averaged 23.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 blocks in 181 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game, and has won the Rookie of the Year award.
