Victor Wembanyama produced a historic performance in his Western Conference Finals debut, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a double-overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 22-year-old superstar finished with 41 points, 24 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks while playing a career-high 49 minutes.

Wembanyama joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to record at least 40 points and 20 rebounds in their conference finals debut.

After the game, Wembanyama admitted that seeing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander receive his second straight MVP trophy before tipoff served as extra motivation.

“I want to get that trophy,” Wembanyama said.

Despite admitting he was exhausted after the game, the Spurs star made it clear the team’s focus remains entirely on winning a championship.

“We’ll rest in July,” Wembanyama said.
