Despite falling behind 3-1 in the NBA Finals, Victor Wembanyama remains convinced that the San Antonio Spurs can still capture the championship.
San Antonio’s deficit comes after a heartbreaking Game 4 loss in which the team squandered a 29-point lead.
The Spurs also let potential victories slip away in the opening two games of the series, making the current scoreline even more frustrating given how competitive the matchup has been.
When asked about the team’s confidence level entering Game 5, Wembanyama made it clear that belief inside the locker room remains strong.
“Absolutely. Everybody thinks, everybody knows, we’re going to do it.”
At the same time, the Spurs star stressed the importance of focusing only on the immediate challenge ahead rather than looking too far into the future.
“I don’t know if I agree with you. I feel like we need to isolate that one game and take it one game at a time,” said Wembanyama.
“I think it would be a mistake to waste our energy on multiple games. It’s one game at a time.”
