After going undrafted in last month’s NBA Draft, former University of Miami standout Tre Donaldson signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat, giving him an opportunity to begin his professional career with the organization.
Speaking on Thursday, the 6-foot-2 point guard explained that Miami’s winning environment and reputation for player development played a major role in his decision, according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.
“The Heat culture, I feel like, is the biggest thing. And I like to win, and they do a lot of that,” Donaldson said.
“So just trying to be a part of that, trying to develop, understanding what I need to do for myself and my future. And just trying to get better. They do that really well and that’s what I was looking forward to.”
ICYMI: During a Zoom call with reporters on Friday, forward Simone Fontecchio explained his decision to re-sign with the Heat. That + more from Miami. https://t.co/dCy71c77oD
