Several teams are expected to show strong interest in Jaylen Brown if Boston ever opens the door to trade discussions, with the Hawks, Rockets and Trail Blazers reportedly viewed around the league as serious potential suitors.
Each franchise has enough draft capital and movable assets to realistically pursue a blockbuster package for the Celtics star.
Brown remains under long-term contract after signing a supermax extension with Boston and still has $183 million owed over the next three seasons.
He is also extension-eligible again this offseason, meaning whichever team controls his rights would have long-term security. Brown, who is represented by Jason Glushon, cannot reach unrestricted free agency until 2029.
The 29-year-old continued to elevate his standing this season by earning All-NBA Second Team honors while helping Boston remain among the East’s top teams despite significant roster turnover and injuries.
With Jayson Tatum missing substantial time recovering from an Achilles tear and veterans such as Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Luke Kornet no longer on the roster, Brown took on an even larger leadership and scoring role throughout the year.
Because Atlanta, Houston and Portland each own multiple tradable first-round selections, league observers believe all three organizations could put together appealing offers if Boston decides to reshape its roster.
The situation becomes even more intriguing with the Celtics also being mentioned in Giannis Antetokounmpo speculation, as Brown’s contract and value could make him a central piece in any potential superstar trade framework.
