The relationship between Olympiacos and Thomas Walkup has deteriorated further, with the veteran guard failing to appear for scheduled medical and physical testing on Thursday.
Walkup did not receive permission to miss the examinations, prompting Olympiacos to begin disciplinary procedures. The club is expected to ask the player to formally explain his absence.
The situation follows Walkup’s attempt to end his agreement with Olympiacos. He recently sent the club written notice seeking to terminate his contract and become available immediately.
Olympiacos refused to accept that move, maintaining that Walkup remains under contract through the summer of 2027.
The EuroLeague champions have also made clear they are prepared to use legal measures to enforce the agreement if he continues to stay away from team obligations.
With neither side showing signs of changing its position, the disagreement now appears increasingly likely to move into the courts.
The relationship between Walkup and Olympiacos seems to have reached a stage where a return to normal cooperation is unlikely.
