The Phoenix Suns have signed guard Kennedy Chandler to a training camp deal, according to HoopsHype. The move gives Phoenix another point guard option ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Chandler spent the 2025-26 season between the G League and NBA, producing at a high level with the Delaware Blue Coats before earning an opportunity with the Utah Jazz.
With Delaware, Chandler averaged 17.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 9.2 assists in 42 games. He played 34.7 minutes per game and shot 45.1% from the field, 30.3% from three-point range and 65.6% from the free-throw line.
Chandler also appeared in 11 games for Utah, averaging 15.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 32.2 minutes. He shot 44.5% from the field and a career-best 39.5% from three-point range during his NBA stint.
The 24-year-old guard has continued to develop as a playmaker since entering the NBA. After averaging 13.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists in his lone season at Tennessee, Chandler was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft.
He played 36 games for Memphis as a rookie, averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 assists in limited minutes. Chandler subsequently established himself as a productive G League guard, averaging 14.0 points and 4.6 assists for the Long Island Nets in 2023-24 and 13.2 points and 5.2 assists for Raptors 905 in 2024-25.
His most productive season as a professional came with Delaware, where his 9.2 assists per game ranked as his highest mark across any of his professional stops.
The Suns already have Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin under contract after re-signing both guards during the offseason. Devin Booker is also expected to handle significant playmaking responsibilities, while Phoenix added Luke Kennard and traded for Miles Bridges as part of a roster reshaping following a 45-37 season.
