The Phoenix Suns are expected to make retaining guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin their top offseason priority, according to John Gambadoro.

Gambadoro reported on Sunday, June 14, that Phoenix’s main focus remains bringing back both players, with the organization now able to begin contract discussions ahead of free agency.

Gillespie and Goodwin both enter free agency after playing important roles in Phoenix’s 2025-26 season. The Suns finished the regular season 45-37, earning the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and a spot in the Play-In Tournament before advancing to the playoffs.

Gillespie emerged as one of Phoenix’s most reliable rotation pieces. The guard appeared in all 82 regular-season games, starting 58, and averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 28.5 minutes per game. He shot efficiently from deep, connecting on 39.7% of his three-point attempts, while posting a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.

His production carried into the postseason. In four playoff games against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Gillespie averaged 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 28.5 minutes. He also shot 47.4% from the field and finished with a team-best 3.8 assist-to-turnover ratio among Phoenix rotation players.

Goodwin provided a different skill set as a defensive-minded guard and energy player. During the regular season, he averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 22.5 minutes per game across 70 appearances. His defensive activity helped him rank among Phoenix’s leaders in steals per game.

The Suns valued Goodwin’s versatility throughout the season, though his playoff role was limited. He appeared in one postseason game against Oklahoma City, playing five minutes.

Phoenix’s interest in retaining both guards comes as the team looks to maintain continuity around Devin Booker. Booker led the Suns with 26.1 points and 6.0 assists per game during the regular season, while Dillon Brooks averaged 20.2 points and Jalen Green added 17.8 points in a smaller sample.

The Suns’ season ended with a first-round sweep against the Thunder, who won all four games of the series.
