The Philadelphia 76ers have several roster decisions to make before the June 29 deadline, with team options looming for Dominick Barlow, Trendon Watford, and Dalen Terry.
Barlow emerged as one of Philadelphia’s success stories this past season after beginning the year on a two-way contract and eventually earning a regular role in the rotation.
Despite that progress, the Sixers may choose not to exercise his $3.4 million option. Instead, declining the option could allow the team to negotiate a longer-term contract that better fits both sides.
A similar approach could be taken with Watford. By declining his current option and bringing him back on a one-year veteran minimum deal, Philadelphia could slightly reduce his cap hold and create additional financial flexibility.
The downside would be losing the ability to trade him during the offseason. Terry’s situation appears more straightforward.
Aaronson projects the Sixers will pick up his $2.6 million non-guaranteed option, allowing the team to maintain control of the young wing while preserving flexibility moving forward.
With free agency approaching, these decisions could help Philadelphia maximize roster flexibility as it continues shaping its team for the 2026-27 season.
