Following his second straight MVP award, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reportedly celebrated by buying gifts for all of his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates.
According to reports, Gilgeous-Alexander purchased matching Burberry trench coats and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver watches for teammates, with the gifts valued at roughly $40,000 per player.
Every Thunder player attended the MVP press conference, where Gilgeous-Alexander thanked them directly for their contributions throughout the season.
“Thank you guys so much,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.
“From setting screens to rebounding when I miss to passing me the ball even though I don’t pass you the ball, everything you guys do to make me a better player out there, I really appreciate you guys.”
The MVP guard also emphasized that team success made the award possible.
“All of the numbers, all of the accolades and everything I do on the court, if we won 10 games, I wouldn’t be in this conversation,” Gilgeous-Alexander said.
