Royce White continued his campaign surrounding the WNBA’s transgender eligibility debate by attending Friday’s Indiana Fever game wearing a long blonde wig.
The former NBA first-round pick sat courtside during Indiana’s 111-91 win over the Connecticut Sun and later wrote on Instagram:
“The Kweeeen has arrived! They better bow for a beautiful Black Trans Lesbian!”
White also called himself “Queen Roysha.” His appearance came shortly after Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from a Fever-Sky game following an exchange with Natasha Cloud and subsequently banned from Wintrust Arena.
White and Freedom have both announced intentions to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft as part of their campaign concerning transgender participation in women’s sports.
The league has reportedly determined that neither is eligible.
Front Office Sports reported that the WNBA views their actions as “simply publicity stunts.”
The league previously addressed the broader controversy, saying “there are no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA and we strongly denounce the bad-faith efforts to use these topics to demean or marginalize others.”
White was selected 16th overall by Houston in the 2012 NBA Draft.
He appeared in only three NBA games, playing nine total minutes for Sacramento in 2014.
