Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce has resolved his DUI case through a plea agreement with Los Angeles prosecutors.

According to court records, Pierce pleaded nolo contendere to a misdemeanor wet reckless driving charge and received 12 months of probation.

He was also ordered to pay a $375 fine and complete several courses, including a MADD Victim Impact Program.

As part of the agreement, the original DUI-related charges against Pierce were dismissed.

The case stemmed from an October 2025 incident in which authorities allegedly found Pierce asleep behind the wheel of an SUV on the 101 Freeway and observed signs of alcohol impairment.

Following the incident, Pierce maintained that he had simply fallen asleep while sitting in heavy traffic.

“Imagine being stuck in stand still traffic for 45 mins and falling asleep 🤦🏾‍♂️,” Pierce wrote on Threads. “I’m old, I’m tired, and I fell asleep 🤷🏾‍♂️ I’m good y’all thanks for the love.”

Pierce, 48, spent 15 seasons with the Celtics and won an NBA championship in 2008.
