Speculation surrounding LeBron James’ future intensified Monday after former teammate Patrick Beverley hinted that a decision could be coming soon.
Beverley, who played with James on the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2022-23 season, posted a brief message on X that quickly attracted attention.
“Rumor has it Bron makes his decision today!!!” Beverley wrote.
It’s unclear whether Beverley has any inside information, but his post comes as pressure continues to build for James to announce his plans.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently said the league hopes James makes his choice soon so the 2026-27 schedule can be finalized.
James informed the Lakers on June 30 that he plans to finish his career elsewhere, making him an NBA free agent for the first time in eight years.
The rumors continued over the weekend at Fanatics Fest in New York when James responded to questions about his future by saying, “Trust the process.”
Philadelphia, Cleveland, Miami and Golden State have all been mentioned as potential destinations.
James’ agent, Rich Paul, recently joked that if his client teamed up with Stephen Curry, the NBA would have to schedule “60 nationally televised games.”
