Nuggets reassess roster after disappointing exit

Following an unexpected first-round exit, the Denver Nuggets are now focused on evaluating their next steps, particularly how to create more offense beyond Nikola Jokic, as discussed by Bennett Durando of the Denver Post.

Jokic, a three-time MVP, had an uncharacteristically quiet series, marking the first time in his career he didn’t record a 30-point game in a playoff matchup.

At the same time, Denver’s offseason additions didn’t deliver the offensive boost the team had hoped for, struggling to support Jokic or help establish a consistent rhythm.

The Nuggets collectively shot just 32.1% on wide-open three-point attempts, and Bruce Brown finished the series with nearly as many turnovers (nine) as assists (10).

“I think you have to look at the different formulas of how we played (offensively) this year, what was most successful,” head coach David Adelman said.

“And you have to really break it down more so into the types of teams that we struggled with, and what are the answers there to make things flow better for us. And I think that takes time.”

As the team heads into the offseason, broader roster decisions are also on the table.

According to Vinny Benedetto of the Denver Gazette, Denver could even explore major moves, including the possibility of trading Jamal Murray, despite him coming off the strongest regular season of his career.
