NBA stars have various perspectives on how they rank players from different generations or the often-asked question of who is in their top 10 all-time.

Brooklyn Nets swingman Michael Porter Jr. talked about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic on his all-time lists.

“I think Joker is probably… I don’t know if people would put him top 10. I’d for sure I put him top 10 all-time,” Porter said, via The Journey Podcast.

It was not a surprise on that take, after Porter played six seasons with the Denver Nuggets alongside Jokic, who often mentored him.

However, the other perspective may come up in controversy as he discussed picking Gilgeous-Alexander over Hall of Famer Allen Iverson.

“I think Shai is like… how do you average 30-some for 3 or 4 years straight, back-to-back MVP, and you’re not up there with some of… people wouldn’t put him above Allen Iverson, but I might,” Porter added.

The 2023 NBA champion gave credit to current superstars on how they impact the game, but still put the number one to Michael Jordan.

“It sounds weird because some of those guys are legends… but I think some of these guys now, Giannis is up there. He would dominate back in the day. He’s getting 40 a game back in the day to me. I’m gonna put MJ at one…,” he added.

Porter has increased his average after being sent to the Brooklyn Nets, with 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and three assists per game in the 2025-26 regular season.
