The Portland Trail Blazers added Micah Potter this offseason after the big man produced the best season of his NBA career with the Indiana Pacers.
Potter averaged 9.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 19.3 minutes per game last season.
He was also highly efficient as a shooter, posting .515/.423/.842 shooting splits while attempting 3.6 three-pointers per game.
At 6-foot-9, Potter is capable of playing both frontcourt positions, but Portland reportedly plans to use him primarily as a floor-spacing power forward.
His ability to shoot from outside could be particularly useful for a Blazers team looking to improve its spacing from several positions.
Portland claimed Potter off waivers during the summer, meaning his contract will remain non-guaranteed until January.
He will have to secure his place on the roster during the opening months of the season.
However, his shooting and positional versatility could give him a strong chance to earn a role as one of Portland’s backup big men.
