Limerick FC have denied claims from Treaty United that they have acquired the intellectual property associated with the Super Blues.
In a statement this morning, Treaty announced their teams will compete in the League of Ireland under the name “Limerick FC” from 2027 onwards.
The club’s managing director Ian McMahon said the move is about “bringing football in Limerick together.”But Limerick FC have also released a statement calling the announcement “invalid”, adding the use of their name is still the subject of an “internal ownership dispute.”
