LeBron James’s decision remains a mystery

Nearly a week into free agency, LeBron James has yet to reveal where he plans to play next season, with little indication of when a decision will be made.

After announcing his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers, James was initially linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat.

Since then, the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Minnesota Timberwolves have also emerged as possible destinations.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the teams pursuing James have not received any new information from him or his agent, Rich Paul, beyond what has already been made public.

“But the last I heard, the teams had not heard anything,” Windhorst said on the Hoop Collective.

“The teams were interested in LeBron – like, they had, they had made contact and whatever – and they hadn’t heard anything. And they’re like, ‘Well, we don’t know what to make of it.’”

Windhorst added that James handled his previous free agency decisions in a similar way, keeping his plans private until he personally informed the team he had chosen.

“They didn’t know. LeBron called in and was basically like, ‘Yep, I’m coming.’ And they’re like, ‘Oh, okay.’ … The Heat didn’t know he was coming. The Cavs didn’t know he was coming back.”
