Before LeBron James chose the Philadelphia 76ers, speculation centered on the possibility of him reuniting with former teammates on another contender.
The Golden State Warriors were connected to Anthony Davis, while the Cleveland Cavaliers were viewed as a potential landing spot if Kyrie Irving became available.
Neither scenario gained traction, however. The Washington Wizards had no interest in moving Davis, and the Dallas Mavericks were equally committed to keeping Irving.
Despite the rumors, James and his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, never pressured interested teams to trade for either Davis or Irving as a condition for signing the four-time NBA champion.
James instead decided to join the 76ers, where he believes he has the best opportunity to compete for another title.
As things stand, Davis is expected to remain with the Wizards, while Irving is projected to begin the new season with the Mavericks.
