LeBron James declined to reveal any details about his NBA future during an appearance at Fanatics Fest on Thursday, leaving fans without the major announcement many had anticipated.
James joined Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton for a live edition of the Mind the Game podcast and made it clear from the beginning that he would not be discussing his free agency decision.
According to those in attendance, Haliburton attempted to get James to reveal his plans, but the four-time NBA champion stuck to his position, reminding his co-host that he had already said backstage he would not address the topic publicly.
Speculation surrounding James’ next team has continued to shift throughout free agency. The Golden State Warriors were initially viewed as a leading contender before attention turned to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.
More recently, the Philadelphia 76ers have emerged as another popular destination, while the Minnesota Timberwolves remain in the conversation.
Haliburton also joked that he tried recruiting James to the Pacers, though he said his pitch was met only with laughing emojis.
