The Los Angeles Lakers are adding another uniform to their rotation for the 2026-27 season, introducing a new Specter Edition design with several departures from their traditional look.
The uniform was presented during a Nike event, where a model appeared in Luka Dončić’s No. 77 jersey. Black and purple dominate the design, while yellow is used for the Lakers lettering, number outlines and other details.
One of the most noticeable changes involves the Nike logo. Rather than appearing in its familiar position near the right shoulder, the logo has been moved toward the center of the chest.
The jersey also incorporates blue and white striping around the front shoulder area. Those colors appear to reference the blue-and-yellow uniforms worn by the Lakers earlier in franchise history.
Los Angeles’ new look is part of a broader NBA initiative. The league announced new Standard Issue Collection jerseys for all 30 teams Wednesday, along with Specter Edition uniforms designed to allow franchises to “trace their roots back to the earliest chapters of the league.”
The Specter concept gives teams another opportunity to combine elements of their history with more modern designs and will provide the Lakers with an alternate uniform to wear on selected occasions next season.
