While it was a quiet weekend on the county Pitch & Putt scene, last Sunday’s Bruff Scratch Cup in Limerick saw the final trial for the Kerry Senior Mens Pitch & Putt team take place.
The county will be represented at the Munster and National Inter-County events by the following: Damien Fleming (Deerpark), Jason Cregan (Tralee), Chris Gibney (Listowel), John McGrath (Deerpark), Jamie Blake (Tralee) and Michael Conway (Tralee). The team will be managed by Deerpark’s James Fleming as also at the Bruff event last Sunday, Damien Fleming’s total of 17 under par was good enough for him to win the 36 hole Gross prize.
The coming weekend sees the first of three weekends of National Singles Championships with the Mens events taking place in both Tullamore in Offaly and Kilbeggan in Westmeath. Defending Senior champion Damien Fleming enters as holder of the Munster Senior title as well this year with Listowel’s Ajay Barrett entering the Intermediate event as Munster Champion in the grade also.
The County Board wishes all 20 Kerry players taking part in the three grades this weekend the very best of luck this weekend as well as a safe journey to and from both Midlands venues.
